Scientific Research and Event Horizon Theory

(Introductory lecture in the occasion of beginning of the academic research year at Manahij institute).

In the general relativity theory, “the Event Horizon” is used to indicate a boundary in the “spacetime”, which is a place surrounding “the black hole” or “the worm hole”, where “an outside observer” cannot be affected by events, simply because the light coming from the event horizon cannot surpass this boundary in order to get to the outside observer (the other side of the event horizon) due to the massive heaviness and gravity of the black hole.

The Event Horizon is somewhere in the spacetime, where light cannot entirely escape, because when gravity holds a giant object, it makes it at a great extent impossible to escape.  

The Event Horizon is usually related to black holes, however – as a principle- it grows and develops in entirely flat areas of the spacetime, when thin, deep and round particle falls into the spacetime. 

Today, amidst our current conditions in our galaxy, there is a total effect by “the external conditions” on each of us, which make us subject to “susceptibilities” like (Colonasability By Malek Bennabi, Ignorability by Abou Elyakadhan, Backwardness and Al-Roshd Model …) however, we keep always putting the blame on “the external gravitation” as if they are “the only effective powers” such as (occupation, the international system, backwardness, financial situation, poor quality works, prevalence of troubles, media, politics, university conditions … ∞ +).    

Therefore, we do not find any answer to our problematics and there is no way to do that, unless we get rid of two major effects: first susceptibilities, second gravitation. There is no doubt that “giving justification” is the first factor we have to get rid of, because we have no excuses to give, no matter how harsh these external and internal effects are, we always need to be at the level of the “Event Horizon” by not ignoring what is surrounding us. However, we should not at the same time let that change our Will; it is true that it may disappoint us unexceptionally and it can be even the reason for our loss, but we have to quickly stand up again, but this time stranger than before…

In the novel of *Maimouna”, which I wrote about the Palestinian case, as you are more aware about how it turned during the time of naturalizing relations with Israel. The protagonist Maimouna was first exposed to deprival test, then to relaxation as well. The Israeli experts examined her case during both loneliness and exposure until the senior expert Zaif realized that that if Maimouna was a model for the future Muslim youth, then Israel is in danger. However, if her case is unique and very exceptional, then Israel will face no fear neither today nor tomorrow…  


In this academic practical occasion, I would like to introduce two experiences pertaining to the scientific research field: the first about Fuat Sezgin the history of sciences scholar and the phenomenon who was the best example in reviving Arab and Islamic scientific heritage through theory and practice.     


The second experience is about Sheikh Ishak bin Ibrahim Tfaich, the scientific research pioneer and the symbol of civilizational scientific openness, who was an example of hard times and suffering, which did not cause him to lose balance in his life, but made him more insightful and more caring about knowledge…    


Finally, I will conclude by the choices we have and the fact about who we are as students, researchers or scholars… How can we get rid of “susceptibilities” first then “gravitations” too, and how we put the blame on “the black hole” to create what seems to be like “the Event Horizon” and pass over all the reasons whether big or small? .
