(Taken from my diary)
I wrote this question in my diary, which I share with the reader as follow:
“What logic do the prophets follow in order to identify “wasted time” in the journey of their mission, or when they feel trapped by circumstances, which make them feel stuck; however, in fact it does not reflect the hidden meaning, which we may not understand or may not count:
– Prophet Noah peace be upon him spent nine hundred fifty years calling his people to the righteous path, but only few believed in him, why for this long time?
– Prophet Joseph peace be upon him had spent a few years in prison, Subsequently, he ascended to govern the earth’s treasuries; aren’t these years a waste of time in the life of the honorable Prophet?
– Prophet Moses peace be upon him served as a shepherd for eight years and completed ten years, before he went to the Pharao and his chiefs to confront them, aren’t these years a waste of time in the logic of people?
– Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him waited forty years before carrying the message of prophecy, he used to contemplate alone, tend the herds sometimes, then he lived only twenty-three years after that, isn’t this also a waste of time?
The same thing for many companions, scholars and personalities … for instance, the intellect Alija Izetbegović and the years he spent in prison before becoming a president of his country, wasn’t this a waste of time?
Wasn’t it possible for all of these pioneers to achieve their purpose and message without these obstacles?
What is the role of stillness in the efficiency of movement, to those who believed, knew and acted?
How can we understand this deep dimension in our life, while striving to make a living, not waiting for anything?.
Hasn’t it been long since the day Algeria became independent from France? But Algerian people are still subordinate and submissive, not being able to move without seeking other people’s help, and whenever they move two steps forward, they go several steps backward.
What’s the wisdom of all of this?
How can we understand that?
How can we achieve correct understanding, while praising the Almighty Allah and believing that Allah’s destiny is wise and that whatever comes from him is the truth, justice and wisdom itself.
Is this wasted time in the history of our nation and our country similar to “the blessed time” for Prophets, is it from the Almighty Allah?
Is it “for us” a really wasted time and there is no need to justify it?
I do not like to rush in judgement, but I push for long vision and contemplation. The right opinion is the outcome of “long time”, not of “urgency and haste”.
There is no doubt that movement is part of stillness, and stillness is part of movement; but when all is well ends well, isn’t supplication a stillness in the surface, which is the motive for movement in reality?
Isn’t thinking a stillness for people, but it is the origin of every movement?
Didn’t the Almighty Allah describe the high mountains, which seem to stay still “Thou seest the mountains and thinkest them firmly fixed: but they shall pass away as the clouds pass away”
O Allah, we ask you for a good end
