In the last summer, I have been reading 2 books which are: ” Qalaq El-Maarifah (The knowledge Dread)” written by Saad El-Bazii, and “A Brief Introduction to Contemporary and modern Issues of The Islamic Intellect ” written by Ahmed Aissaoui. These two books are directly related to the “Civilization Quest” at its existential and perceptional levels i.e.:
How do we understand the backwardness of the Muslim Ummah (nation) from catching the civilizational development of other nations?
What’s the way to going out of this state to the state of civilization and power?
Initially, is that possible?
In the scale of time, how much time will take from us? Years? Decades? Centuries?
In addition, I live, as any Muslim with a sound consciousness who holds the concerns of Ummah, in hard circumstances that are not similar at all to what the previous generation have lived before. It’s not even close to what we lives in the past decades, due to the phenomena of pandemics and biological wars, due to the truth in the global wars such as the war in Ukraine, due to the media and economic dominance with advanced digital technology and even due to the state of hostility among neighboring Muslim countries..
Opposite to all of that in the other hand, there’s a difficult national internal situation that consists of the will to make a leap to reach the level of the developed countries in some areas; and the will to maintain the state of passivity and stagnation that is practiced by many with different means and ways of corruption, which led to society losing all its hope and to planting despair among people. To an extent that the statement:” Oh my country! When will the dawn rise upon you?” does not seem to be leaving mouths. Even though that there are some initiatives, achievements and even serious attempts that pop up from time to time to bring back positivism and optimism to the souls, yet it still represent the defeated reviving minority against the defeating deadly majority..
What I want to shed light on is that any sort of analysis to our reality, had it not based on recent facts and data, had it not been collective in efforts, had it lost the monotheistic universal vision and had it lost track of the profound knowledge of our modern era…will, with no doubt, be a failure. It will even lead to issues, not solutions. Initially, making solutions comes with initiatives in reality, in the field and in the scale of time…no matter how weak or unrefined are those initiatives, they allow refining ideas and thinking, strengthening samples and examples and acquiring experience and endurance…
We will not get weary or exhausted of thinking, and of inspiring from the Holy Qur’an, the pure prophetic teaching and the rich Islamic heritage; along with the serious cautious analysis of our reality at all its level, its ranks and its depictions. We may possibly find a glimpse of the hope light coming in from outside the darkness cave, and may fail as well; since the fruit, in our sense, is not our biggest concern, yet effort, truthfulness, patience, endurance, rotation and ever-seeking righteousness… all of that is under our will, and surely we will be held accountable about it at the Day of Judgment
Indeed, our intentions are for the sake of Allah, He, only, leads to The Right Way…
